OA622: Will Alex Jones' Damages Be Capped by Texas Law?

The unfortunate answer is... yes. BUT. There may be a one weird trick that actually could sidestep this! Listen in for the breakdown and why there is a sliver of hope on this really terrible nonsense. After that, we talk about our Matthew Hoh interview and the response we have gotten.

When it comes to discussing alternative voting systems, and which would be best for replacing plurality/FPTP, it's important to mention that the time for that discussion is *before* it gets to a referendum. Any referendum should only offer one alternative system, and anyone that doesn't like FPTP should vote for it. Don't "hold out" for Approval Voting or Proportional because you think it's better than RCV. If we have a plurality vote with all the options, we'll be stuck with plurality.

I’m not surprised Mathew didn’t get into the voting geekery. If he had an actual interest in voting systems, he’d have realized by now that running 3rd party isn’t the right move. I would be interested in an episode with a math prof going over various voting systems.

Kelvin, like the temperature.
