This episode was full of my GOATs. We saw Ines, Kal’sit (and DAMN I liked her old outfit), and Closure (the shop keep girl saying she would repair Rhodes Island)

2025-07-14 02:21:49 +0000 UTCSome minor additional context (other people have commented some of this). So they do get this across somehow but It should not be understated how scary the Doctor was. Even here W refers to him as the “masked monster” when mentioning he and kal’sit (“the hag”) were gone. You basically got it, but Ines power was basically to read people soul’s through their shadows. After seeing Talulah, as you said, Talulah knew and had her killed. Ines was actually a dragon girl (like Chen, but maybe not the exact species). She carved her horns to look like a Sarkaz. Kazdel was the ancient home of the Sarkaz race and was fractured due to unrelenting wars. Theresa and Theresis were siblings at the center of a modern civil war. Theresa’s faction was babel, which became Rhodes island after her death. That’s actually why a lot of the Elite Ops of RI are Sarkaz. And you are correct, they have not explained the Doctor’s Amnesia.

It’s weird, because I truely didn’t think this would be adapted because it wasn’t in the main story. Most this was from a VERY important side story, but provided super important context to the main story. The part that was in the main story was Ws fight with Talulah, but it really doesn’t mean anything without the side stories context. So I think them including it at all was big W (hehe). The origin of Rhodes island otherwise wouldn’t have been explained at all in the Talulah arc, and I love the context of pre amnesia doctor. But it’s funny, I’ve seen quite a few people react to it and everyone, yourself included, figures out the key story beats of what was happening. I think it helps that other than the scene with at the very end with the kid, it was entirely in chronological order. So how they did successfully present all the info, but it just felt bad and didn’t have as much impact because of the speed.

2025-07-13 17:45:53 +0000 UTCthe last scene was a bonus/after credit scene at the end of the DM/backstory-event where W encountered some random surviving civilian kids in the city they destroyed at the beginning of season 1 and talulah is now driving into lungmen to crash was more to have symbolic meaning then to be part of the story/plot

2025-07-13 08:10:41 +0000 UTCfrom what I can say without touching on (very) later events too much kazdel is the sarkaz homeland going by what most of older sarkaz names seem to be based on irl their origin/region seems to be jewish(?) inspired mostly always for some other reason attacked by other nations etc so much so that war is basically all that the younger generations got to know and dont even seem to have need for own names and using just simple placeholders like shovel theresa and theresis were siblings and for some time ruled together until smth happened and that war was between them *** that whole episode was made as a flashback to give the fastened pace some logic at least

2025-07-13 07:57:51 +0000 UTCYeah, this episode was dedicated to one side story named "Darknights Memoir", which showed us a fractured look into the past of Rhodes Island, "Babel". However, it was only like a preview compared to what we got 3-4 years later with actual side story named "Babel", which is so good, it should be adapted as a movie in the future, legit. I hope you didn't mind the speed up too much, but I think the pacing will be back to what was like in Episode 1, which should be REALLY peak. Can't wait to see the next week's episode!
