Made In Abyss Season 2 Episode 12

Valid take, I give it an 8 and feel pretty close to the same with your reasoning as well

Gave the whole series a 8.5, world building is amazing and the abyss itself is such a cool idea and amazing concept but this mf does not know when to stop bro, legit just extra stuff for no reason. Ost godly and a few characters are godly but then some characters are awful and honesty they are some of the most disturbing people in anime I’ve seen bro. But it’s like something about it still hits

Okay seriously if this really ended up happening I would grow an entirely different level of respect for the series and be beyond mind blown at how crazy it played out. I think that would make all the insane deaths going on and unfairness everywhere in the abyss feel a lot more important due to it showing that while it was terrifying, she was okay with it as long as it meant exploring new things, but the finale being the one thing that inspired you to explore in the first place is also beyond corruption and shows you where your curiosity will get you as well. Especially since even if they beat the final antagonist which is her Mom, unless they find a new thing no one else discovered to get out of the Abyss safely, they’ll end up just like her or worse which would continue the cycle. Also would be super unsettling but hella foreshadowing since Riko is also a white whistle and they’ve all become warped in a way and left in horrible places (even though it’s usually by choice)

One of the main things about this show is going to the bottom of the Abyss, but it's also about the adventure itself. What this season tries to teach us is to "never long for home" aka homesickness. If you're adventuring and you're truly enjoying every moment of it and having fun you will never have homesickness. However it's when you get stuck/complacent and then you start thinking of home thats when your adventure really comes to an end.

Now that you've finished S2 of MiA I can now tell you of my theory about Lyza. Before Wazukyan got Thanos snapped away from existence he told Riko and gang his last "vision" that he saw: "Something more frightening than unfulfilled dreams awaits beyond the gold. At the very least, realize your dreams... and despair." What I take away from this is that whatever Riko finds at the actual bottom of the Abyss will be something she completely regrets and fears. Her dream and one of her main reasons for even going into the Abyss is to find her mother and keep adventuring with her. However so far with every White Whistle we've seen has always been fucked up in some sort of way. Ozen herself said that she is actually the kindest of all the White Whistles which is really saying something because imagine that plus the effects of the Abyss on your mind making you go insane. Basically what I'm trying to say is that if Riko finds Lyza she's not gonna be the same person we the audience once knew with possibly being even more screwed up in the head than Bondrewd and that's mainly due to the fact that she's at least in the 7th layer maybe even further than that and we know how it can effect you mentally. I believe Lyza will most likely be the final antagonist of Made In Abyss and that will be something truly frightening for Riko to see as both her dream & idol she once wanted become is now the thing she regrets the most after finally knowing. How fitting would it be that the reason that this all even happened was because of Lyza and it also ends with Lyza making it come full circle.

Faputa didn't flat out say she's joining the squad, but she does actually join them and thats not a spoiler for the manga since its only 4 chapters ahead.

I didn't mention this to you from before, but the author made a danger rating using stars for all the creatures in the abyss. For example: 1 Star: "Harmless" 5 Star: "Absurd", The Parasitic Insects and the monster Porcupine that messed up Riko's hand. 6 Star: "Extraordinary" Turbinid-Dragon you've already seen how much of a menace that thing is in this season. HOWEVER, there is actually one last danger level being 7+ Star level aka "Unprecedented". It was originally created as a joke by Delvers, but the unexpected appearance of dangerous creatures exceeding even their wildest imaginations ended up making it an official classification which we have yet to see...

Just as FYI, the blue cyclops hollow that tried to save Vueko from the curse was actually her lover, but the anime doesn't show that to you cuz in the manga it shows the both of them "getting down to business" if you know what I mean. The anime just straight up didn't include it which is understandable. It was still emotional, but it probably would of hit harder if we knew more of their relationship.

Idris Naama

The only reason why Vueko turned into a hollow was because of the curse of the 6th layer. It had nothing to do about the village. If you remember in the beginning of S2 Nanachi said that the curse wasn't in the village so Riko would be fine going up stairs without becoming a hollow. Where Vueko was walking up those stairs there was a big hole in the wall and the curse was coming through that which is why Vueko got affected by it. She said it herself that she had forgotten all about the curse since it's been 150+ years that had passed for her. Sometimes life is really unfair and unforgiving.
