Remember how I said that it was around 2000 years ago when they went into the Abyss? But Wazukyan said that its only been about 150 years since the creation of the village...? This is the result of the time dilation that happens and increases with each layer and the 6th layer slowing down time the most so far.
On the surface above the Abyss where time is normal and isn't slowed down, 2000 years would of normally passed, BUT in the 6th layer where time slowed down everyone such as the villagers, Vueko & Faputa are at the very least 150+ years old yet are still alive because of Irumyuui turning them into hollows which makes them immortal as long as they are inside the village.
Here's an example to help you better understand if you don't already:
Lyza went back into the Abyss and left Riko on the surface at the age of 2 and its been 10 years since then on the SURFACE and now Riko is 12 when she goes down into the Abyss. So if and when Riko finds her mom it will have only been about either a couple weeks or months that have only passed for Lyza because of the extreme time dilation in the 6th layer.

By the way, neither the Villagers nor Faputa are in the wrong.
It was Irumyuui's own wishes that transformed into this hellscape. Irumyuui wanted to save them, but Faputa cannot forgive the twisted way in which it went down, which was Irumyuui's babies having healing properties that saved the Villagers, and since the wishes were granted in such a TWISTED way that Irumyuui turned into something that wasn't even capable of speech and probably isn't even capable of thinking anymore.
It is all just extremely unfortunate, but nobody had bad intentions. They all wanted to do their best to survive and keep each other safe. Faputa just cannot forgive it, and she is not wrong to feel that way, because it was extremely messed up stuff.
