2023-01-28 09:32:15 +0000 UTCThis is probably one of my favourite backstories in anime and to me its the most tragic/darkest/saddest one I've ever seen and no it's not because I enjoy watching peoples suffering 🤨. This backstory as you yourself mentioned made everything make sense it brought everything full circle and now we look at the Ending song in a completely new perspective as everything hits a lot harder now that we have the full context. These last 4 episodes are where S2 REALLY GETS GOOD so I look forward to your reactions!

2023-01-27 23:46:50 +0000 UTCI think Wazukyan was insane from the very beginning, but we just didn't know it yet. We only realized it when he was pushed into a corner by the Abyss which really brought out his true nature cuz as he said in this episode: "You all might call me "divinely possessed" but I've still gotta do everything I can." Which is what he did with Irumyuui. No question about it what Wazukyan did from a moral standpoint was horrific to say the least, however from an objective standpoint he did the right thing as a leader to keep everyone alive because time was running out for everybody before the symptoms of the parasitic water would kill them and with very little options he was more than willing to try anything to stop it which we saw happen. On top of him already being insane and the affects of the abyss on his mind I don't think any normal person would of done what he did in that same situation. Similar to Bondrewd they technically tried doing something good, but lost their humanity some part of the way which lead them to committing insane acts in the name of something good that they genuinely believed in.

It's honestly beautiful and so fucking sad at the same time 😭 Also just an FYI that there will be a special Ending song (same visuals tho) so don't skip that.
