$200/month reached within first two weeks!
Added 2021-02-17 19:27:44 +0000 UTCEarly fundraising continues for the Gallery. Two and a half weeks in and we're already well over $200/month with almost 100 individuals patrons. I've been "cold calling" like crazy on Facebook Messenger to rally as much support behind the cause as possible. My goal is to get to $500+/month ASAP because that will put the Gallery in a position to produce high quality pieces for the community on a monthly basis.
Whatever you guys can do to help spread the word will help a ton. Don't be shy, it's only $2! An easy ask :) If we can get friends, and friends of friends on board, that will get us up into the 200-300 Patron range quick. With that kind of support, this Gallery would be positioned to produce some seriously awesome stuff, and with notable frequency.
Thanks to everyone that has thrown their support behind this project so far. Being an early adopter makes a huge difference as most people like to see others giving before doing so themselves. With almost 100 individual Patrons it is safe to say the effort is quickly demonstrating its legitimacy (and potential).
If the fund does grows to where it is bringing in more than $550/month, I will go ahead incorporate it as a non-profit to further establish it's role as a organization committed to advancing the arts. When we do reach that point, you would then be able to claim your contributions as tax-deductions.
In the meantime I'll keep my nose to the grindstone to rally more support, and will post more updates as there is information to share.
