So the other day I did some testing on the possibilities of using natural light here at my own place. βΊοΈ There wasn't no real plan, other than doing a shoot pretty late in the evening, to make best use of this golden glow it creates in my flat. π₯Ή
This young beauty named Sara Isabel was on fire when she heard about my plans, so she hurried up and came by my place with a bag full of different outfits which we could use. π€©ππ»
As mentioned, this was basically just me having to test if it would even work - so we din't aim to differ as much as possible because it wasn't the original intension to make it a full series. The results however ended out so cool I thought we should totally publish them for you lads. π
From the very first visualization I had in my head, I knew that I would be aiming for a heavy analogue-vibed inspired look, so to add grains and desaturate the look, was very much obvious from the get go.
Below is the worlds worst .gif showing the before vs after, results in Capture One Pro - and as you might be able to see; the original shots were pretty much golden in itself so all I had to do was to grain it and lower the contrasts, you know. π€π€π»
(The worst .gif ever created, showcasing my before vs after treatment in Capture One Pro - however because of the bad quality, it's very hard to see exactly how much of a different it actually did.. ππ)
I also did one video with my iPhone (because that was what I just had next to me) and below you can see a still from that video. That was how cold the setting was through the censor of that camera - but on my Canon it was all about notching up the Kelvin a bit, to balance and even it out to match what I visioned to begin with. βΊοΈππ»
(As mentioned earlier, we didn't really plan anything so as you can see Sara is basically just sitting on the floor in my hallway in which I moved a huge exotic looking plant to create some epic shadows to work with ππ±πΏ)
There's not much more to tell about this setting, other than we were in a rush because of the sunlight going down. Everything was done within the span of 45 min because the tight deadline of the sunset.. π π
Sara Isabel did so well and as a casual test for me, I'm very pleased with the results. We haven't talked about doing anymore, but maybe if one day I get a new crazy idea in which I find her slightly exotic look fitting, I might use her once more. π€©ππ» Please let us know if you got any comments, ideas or suggestions to possible projects.
Please feel free to ask away about whatever you want to know about this shoot! βΊοΈ Technical stuff, practical stuff, tips or tricks - or simply just let me know what you think. π₯³ππ»
