Your submissions for the 'Better Lovers' series with Trine Lasson Edit Challenge !

It's christmas - but it's also the 26th of December, meaning this is the day we sat as the deadline for this months challenge  !! 🤩🙌🏻
Eventhou the last few months has been a bit quiet on the 'participant'-front, I'm proud to present to you two fellow patrons submissions - so let's jump right into it, shall we? 🥳🤷🏻‍♂️

This month you were given five free raw-files from the first few parts of my Italy trip with Trine Lasson. 🤓🇮🇹

The rules were simple: 'You were all given five free raw-files of mine, to process the way you felt the most'. 🤓🤌🏻🔥

So basically you were all given completely opportunities to edit just the way you wanted. 🤷🏻‍♂️🥳 Nothing is wrong - everything is absolutely right! 😁👏🏻 There wasn't really that many submissions this month, so it's gonna be a short run.. 😅🙏🏻

Enough talk, let's just head straight into your submissions:

Patron Silvio Lange:

Silvio is new to these challenges (as I recall. Correct me if I'm wrong 😅🙏🏻) and he was actually the first to send in his submissions. 💪🏻🚀

Photo #01:

He send me two of the five photos and to me it looks like he has given both of them "the same treatment". ☺️ It might be hard to see as you just take a glimpse at them, but both of the photos I was send are SUPER crisp and sharpened. I don't know if he used some sort of filter / AI-sharpening tool, but it's clear to me something has been done. 😁
(Below is a zoomed in version where you can take a closer look.)

About the toning, it seems like Silvio went with a bit of a "pale tone". Desaturated it a bit and kept all the nuances in close promixity - that is very well done actually! 👏🏻 I like the idea of doing so and by removing all colours which might "pop out" and interrupt the focus, is a good idea. ☺️

I see no real skin retouch or use of 'Liquify' but I guess that was done on purpose. I do miss a sliiiightly closer cropping on this first photo, because the edge of her socks annoys me and I would personally remove it by cropping. 😅🙈

Notice how crisp and sharp the texture looks. I don't know exactly what tool that was used to achieve this, but it can be done in various ways - however, you always have to keep in mind not overdoing it since it can actually get a little "too sharp" so it somehow hurts the eyes of the viewer, I think. ☺️

I can't help but notice the background looks a little bit more blurred(?!) than on my original, but it can be my mind playing tricks - or Silvio could have enhanced the blurriness at the same time sharpening the rest of the photo. I don't know, but I would like to hear if anything has been done to the background. 😁🤷🏻‍♂️

Photo #02:

The second submission looks in many ways like the first one; it's been desaturated a bit, the colours are paled and the sharpness is turned to 11. 🥳
I do get the same vibe of having the background a bit more blurred out here, like on the previous submission, but I'm honestly not sure if anything has been done or it's just a mindfuck.. haha. 😆🙈

A zoomed around this photo tho, and noticed a little "shadow" or motion blur of some kind, on this one - and I can't really figure out how that appeared? 🤔 It doesn't look like something which was there at my original shot, so maybe it appeared from some sort of filter Silvio applied or ?

Please let me know if you got any ideas - since the only way I can imagine it getting there, was either for me to have used a weird shutter speed OR shot through a mirror, but I don't recall doing so.. 😅🤷🏻‍♂️

Patron C. Klem:

Again I have to point out the hilarious AI generated photos C. Klem submitted back in February when I showed the results of that months challenge 😁 They were epic and something I really didn't expect to recieve AT ALL - but now he's back and he did it again! 😆

He repeated the fun at the next challenge as well, but this time around he's back with some more traditional submissions. 😁 I like the way C. Klem has changed his style on this months challenge, since it seems to me like you're moving into a new direction and challenging yourself a bit! 🤩👏🏻

Photo #01:

A grainy edition of my original, which gives me analogue vibes. 😁👌🏻 The colours are a bit faded and there's no real skin retouch to make it even more realistic as an analogue photo.

In fact, all his three submissions this time around seems to be inspired of analogue looks, with more or less the same approach - AND I LIKE IT!! 🤩🙌🏻 Job very well done, sir.
I don't think he did any cropping or so and maybe it's on purpose to stay true to the original look. ☺️

Photo #02:

The black/white conversion on this one is super exciting, since it seems to me like you raised the dark areas a bit and actually lowered the contrasts a bit. The grains has been kept and the max highlighted areas has been paled a bit too, given a smooth contrast with no deep dark or light sides. 😁👌🏻

Photo #03:

I think he's been doing the same process on this photo, except of the black/white conversion. - however this one seems a bit cropped / zoomed. I like the outcome of this, and something which I didn't think of doing myself. 👀👌🏻

-----------------------------

THAT WAS IT, FRIENDS! 😁🙌🏻

Thanks for participating in this fun little game. ☺️ There will be many more in the future, so stay tuned, since the raw-files are timed exclusives for PREMIUM*. (*Afterwards they are only available for Tier 3 supporters)

To all of you who wrote me telling that you were worried of others looking at your submissions; Don't be. ☺️🖤 It's super fine to be totally new in the game and just using this as a practice to get better, due to the feedback. That's what this is all about. ☺️

Now, let me know in a comment what you think about all the wonderful submissions or maybe get inspired to join for the next round! 🥳👇🏻
