It depends what the definition of 'is' is. The contract says the rancher must harvest when the crop is ripe, and apparently it was still ripe when the hail storm came. A literal reading would lead me to conclude this is not a breach.
But what is the industry standard for a reasonable time to complete the harvest? That seems to me like essential information that the question needed to provide.

Is the fact that the rancher is "experienced" a critical detail? In which case, he should know about the possible hailstorms, and should have foreseen that a delay could destroy the crop.. so it's probably C?
