Opening Arguments

Probably too late to make the cut, but I would like a good definition of employment law regarding "at will" employment. I live "at will" state (Mo) and my niece, who is visiting for the summer and got a summer job, was told by her manager that she *must* give a written two week notice. I told her to tell him to suck it (the day she wants to leave) and walk out (or just not show up), but if she wants to be nice she can give him formal notice so he can schedule for it; but that she's under no obligation to inform him ahead of time and if she does give notice, he might just can her on the spot. Not sure if I was giving good advice, but that's my experience in the non-union service industry in all the states I've done that in, not just this one. Would like to know if I'm correct or not.
