Mexico City: Brandon
Added 2023-07-13 13:00:03 +0000 UTCTwenty-five year old Brandon was my last of 6 shoots I did on my latest trip down south - he was also one of my favorites. Communicating via Instagram, I couldn't really get a sense of his personality or anything and I wasn't sure what to expect when we met. He showed up at my place - a small-framed guy dressed pretty shabby in baggy clothes and wearing a knit cap of some sort. I had that all too familiar feeling of 'oh no' - not sure what I'd gotten myself into.
I led him up to my little Airbnb and since it was so hot and unpleasant out, I suggested we sit for a few minutes, let him relax and just chat. I could tell he was nervous, but he soon started loosening up and smiling and laughing. I did the usual and gave a general run down of the images I was going for and also showed him some examples of previous shoots I'd done on that trip and in that space.
As I told him to go ahead and get undressed, while I got the camera and such situated, I was reminded of the physique I'd been drawn to in the first place. You'd never know it with his he dresses and carries himself, but his body is really on point.
In the end, he was a fun, sweet and cute guy to collaborate with and I'm really glad we met. We hit it off and had a great shoot and he's definitely one I'd like to work with again next time I'm in his city.
