Tbilisi: Tsotne, part 1

I met Tsotne through another local photographer here in Tbilisi. He's 23 and a local Georgian. Like many Georgian men, he's bearded and looks older than his actual age. While you may not think he's my normal 'type', there's something about him that I was drawn to - whether it be that he's handsome or willing to pose full nude or both. I also liked the heart colored into his hair - kind of cool. For such a conservative, traditional and homophobic country, it's always encouraging and admirable when you meet someone who goes against the grain and defies the tradition, regardless how big or little they do it.

We took these photos in my apartment on Christmas Eve. The morning light in my apartment is beautiful on a sunny day. To be specific - 11am is when the lighting is at it's best - and just the kitchen. I've used it for some other shoots as well - certainly when it's too cold outside or when there will be full nudity involved. In some cases, depending on the model I want a more interesting location and if they're willing to do nude in a public-ish setting and the temperature isn't below freezing, then that's an option.

This was a fairly quick shoot. We did some underwear shots and then the nudes. The space and good lighting was limited and physically his look wouldn't have worked with some of the other physique shots I would normally have done. Regardless, he's a different look and a different vibe for me and a sweet guy. Hope you enjoy!
