Mexico City: Alan, part 2

Ah, Alan.

I first came to know Alan through some foreign, low-budget arthouse movie several years ago. The movie was called 'I Am Happiness on Earth' and with all the skin and sexuality on display, I had to find out who the actor was. After a quick search on social media, I found him, sent him a message and the rest is history. We became friends and chatted off and on over the past few years and promised should our paths ever cross, we'd collaborate on a shoot together.

Alan is a 30-something ballet dancer and actor living in Mexico City. Several months ago he suffered a serious injury and therefor hasn't been dancing, as he goes through physical therapy on his way to recovery. While he's done a handful of films (Mexican, independent and arthouse), dancing has been his focus. Of course for professional ballet dancers, they can age out fast and before they know it they need to retire. Safe to say that Alan is such an artistic, outgoing and talented person that whether it be dancing or something else, he'll do just fine.

Having wanted to shoot with Alan for some years now, he was definitely part of my decision to FINALLY get down to Mexico City. We talked and planned before my trip and he graciously set me up with a few other dancers while I was down there. We did these shots on the roof of his top-floor apartment in one of the suburbs of the sprawling city. More to come!
