The recent deaths on Grossglockner is an interesting story. Very recent though and still developing. - https://www.lbc.co.uk/article/boyfriend-manslaughter-charges-austria-girlfriend-5HjdNyx_2/ - https://old.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1peqfn7/boyfriend_facing_manslaughter_charges_after/ - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15355883/Webcam-images-girlfriend-left-die-Austrias-biggest-mountain-experienced-climber-Emergency-torches-night-helicopters-desperate-search-boyfriends-descent-safety.html

Not taking the youtube sponsors is spot on. I love Tim Dillon and think he's hilarious but he would do an ad read for fentanyl if they gave him enough money. It's about respecting your fans lmao. Finding things to make TCL vids on: The complex cases that you get temporarily obsessed with really amplify your strengths as an entertainer. Like with the chris watts case, I wasn't super into it but I was aware of the background, but when I was done watching your series of vids on it I had a whole different appreciation for the case based off your observations. Some cases just have goldmines of interesting shit to think about. And you also point out the abstract comedy that comes out of these situations which is my favorite aspect of true crime, especially with interrogation footage (never grab the pen). When there aren't any interesting cases going on (which is more often than not) it's basically a waste of your talent to try and comment on boring cases that don't interest you, just to try and feed the algorithm. I'm not saying you should stop feeding the algorithm because its just a fact of youtuber life but what I'm saying is when there aren't any interesting cases going on that's not your fault, there's literally just nothing interesting to talk about. So yeah it's a shitty fact that as a true crime youtuber there's dry spells but, the world is insane and I'm sure something will eventually happen that warrants a 5-part TCL extravaganza. Anyways I'm gunna go rock down to Shmeeda avenue.

Would you consider any collaborations to pool subscribers? I do like it being just you and your thoughts but if there was another youtuber you liked with a similar format and you could reach out to them to give it a try first - even just on Patreon to begin with… may work better on current cases though and I’m guessing would be a bit more work to coordinate…? Would give more exposure though

you don't have to do gambling. but like VPNs are actually useful.. I know I've been traveling before and couldn't access stuff I wanted to online, so if you use a VPN you can change your location and still access it. for example! also, like.. all these porn laws.. people gotta pretend they're not in TX and FL to see porn :D

sorry commenting here as I'm watching the video... why don't you check out some of the sponsors that contact you? ask them to send you free stuff or a VPN account or whatever and you can check it out. then if you like it you can do a quick ad-read on the episode. I don't mind them at all when I'm watching videos. I have YT premium so I don't see other ads and if I dont feel like watching ij just skip forward a bit. places like thrive market are good, hello fresh type places are actually cool.. I used to subscribe. but you dont have to shill stuff you don't like, just check 'em out to see what you think of them first. a couple thousand extra per video seems like it'd be worth it to do that!

if you DO want to get t-shirts made locally.. we've done that too and sold them on Shopify... you can track your inventory there and do the fulfillment and all that through Shopify. they just take a small % then. we may only make like $10 on a t-shirt sale that is $30 with s&H but we legit have to do NOTHING for it. so I figure when we have the time we can make our shirts and sell them on there and locally and make more per shirt, but in the meantime when we do not have time to worry about that, we can passively sell merch all day long on our site. Here is our shop: https://good-karma-pet-rescue.myshopify.com

for an easy way to start on merch, get a Shopify account. speaking from experience as my animal rescue has one. you just have to upload a design and you make all sorts of products with it. I'm guessing a graphic artist fan would help you out there. you DO NOT make as much as you would if you made/shipped out your own merch.. but the upside is you don't have to do a THING after you create the items. you just get an email letting you know about each sale. it takes care of the sales tax for you and everything.

Stacey Tollackson

just post snippets of your show on YouTube shorts and tiktok to try to get them to come watch your full-length videos on YT is what I'm thinking

Stacey Tollackson

OH DUDE I would have loved to chill and chat, sorry I missed this!

Also totally respect that you take your time choosing only the best stories to make content out of rather than constant slop but could also have separate “mini stories” only on Patreon. I know there’s heaps of people like me that just listen to TCL on repeat.

Hey Scott, in terms of distribution. I know you don’t like to run ads on your YouTube or maybe it gets demonetised but maybe it would be worth it to have the full episodes on Patreon or release the full episode on Patreon first so Patreon subs get it first?

Adrian

Missed the live! ahhhh. Just relaxing after cleaning out the cat toilets, thank you for something uplifting! 10:46 Monday morning here in Sydney Australia.
