As an idea for future episodes, my favorites are the oldies. I can seriously go back and listen to those on repeat. I don’t see why it has to be a case that’s currently in the news. I feel like there are still so many interviews that are comedic gold. Edwin Mara comes to mind

Julian Campbell

Scott, you need an applause sound effect for the Sundaaayyy Paasaatriiiooot Show. For sure.

I honestly don’t get the big deal with taking pics in the bathroom. Men’s bathrooms, yes. Because you use urinals and you got your junk out. But in women’s bathrooms, the most you’re gonna see is women coming out of stalls and washing their hands. Of course, you know Lily Tino recording that because she knows there is already controversy with Lily and women like her using the women’s bathroom at all, as unfair as that is. I feel like she is just spotlighting, “Hey, using the women’s bathroom!” for anyone out there that doesn’t like that fact. Not doing her community a lot of good with that, but I suppose it’s good for views. I’ve only caught bits of her stuff, and I agree she’s annoying. But c’mon with the JKR talk. I was legit half asleep and that part woke me right up. “Is he kidding? He doesn’t sound like he’s kidding!” But I think others on here already covered it more eloquently than I could. If you weren’t kidding, I hope you take a bit to see the hateful shit Ms Rowling been saying. The fact you continue to use “she/her” with Lily Tino tells me that you wouldn’t be a fan.

Was he kidding about JKR? I hope so, sheesh.

Thank you for the insight. Yes, issues with more "shocking value" are absolutely used to distract from other large scale issues going on in the world. And stirring fear and hate has always been a known political trick (which alas works). I agree about gender neutral bathrooms. In my country bathrooms can be gendered in public spaces, but not always. Sometimes there is only one set for everyone. So as a woman I don't really see an issue if a man enters a public bathroom where I am washing my hands. Depending on the person and if I feel isolated or not, I can feel threatened sometimes, but not more than when I cross my office's underground parking lot alone at night.... So I reckon the issue is sexist violence, more than the bathroom itself. In places where gendered bathrooms are the norm, adding the possibility of gender neutral bathrooms could be a good idea. But also quitting trying to make out the gender of everyone entering a bathroom, especially when nothing special is going on -as in, people are just trying to use the restroom and no one is threatening anybody else- would be a good idea too. I never understood the issue about transgendered people using the bathroom they want to use, it doesn't bother anyone (except if someone utters an offensive running commentary outloud while recording everyone who is trying to queue for the loo)

I kinda agree, although I admit I didn't follow everything JKR is writing or saying. At the start I thougth JKR was trying to be reasonable - but later on I heard of her being sarcastic or derogatory, which is absolutely not called for. And I must say I am not sure if she did say these things, or if her words were misrepresented, but I am wary now (Maybe I should research it before jumping on an opinion, I certainly don't want to join into the cancel culture either, but hey, I am also a little lazy) I have LGBT loved ones, very close to me, and they do have to tread through life harder than straight people, so I know that défending this community's rights is strongly needed - but I also think arrogantly battling everyone who doesn't look/walk/speak like you is ridiculous, and calling one transphobic because they don't agree on every little single thing, that's just crazy. Orwellian 1984 uniform way of thinking is not for me. So yeah, I don't condone hyper communautarism, I don't think it's good for mankind, and I just hope people from all stands of life can respect each other and help each other out without always making it political. And my point is : I'm not sure that was what JKR ended up doing, so I wouldn't recommand her as an example for the voice of reason. Maybe I am mistaken, I don't know everything she said or didn't say. Enlighten me if you think appropriate, I welcome it.

I like the halloween story, but I like your take on real life stuff even more. No shame in doing what you want to do!

Scott, I love you and I’ll never unsubscribe and I agree with you on most things. You're 100% right about Lily Tito and I'm so glad you talked about because it's SO interesting and bizarre and everything I want in a news story. I do think you’re wrong about JK Rowling. You’re a reasonable guy and you even said something about how trans people are just trying to live their lives. They are. They're just humans like everyone else trying to get through the day and deal with their own shit. Rowling demonizes trans people and fuels violence against them. I'm all for criticizing and laughing at someone who is doing harm or being stupid, and I think Rowling falls in that category. Love you! Thanks for all hard work!

Courtney D

It’s the opposite for JK Rowling, she is a witch billionaire who has actively uses her money to be pitted against legislature in support of trans rights.

you should do a video on austin drummond. my mom is obsessed with that story right now

Gotta be honest man your takes on the trans stuff are really bad. I agree this Lily lady seems like she's a provocateur and annoying. Meanwhile JK Rowling is legally attacking trans people and trying to prevent them from living their lives authentically. I assume you're a live and let live kind of guy and I get that the trans stuff might be a little foreign to you but we should be on the side of the little guy and underdog, not the billionaire living in a castle.

I have a friend with a similar channel size that is making nearly 200k off his Patreon alone.

I believe if you marketed your Patreon a little better you could 5-10x

I've been a fan since 2019 starting with old chrissy-poo watts and I've probably seen every video at least 5 times. thats why I signed up to the patreon and I was excited for my first Sunday episode. While I hate the way Lily Tino harasses strangers, especially service workers, what I hate more is how some people use one shitty person's actions to justify hatred of an entire group. As a trans man (born female and live as a man), I probably know more trans people than most. I have close friends who are transgender but I also know a good bit of trans people who I'm not particularly fond of. But that's the thing about people: some people are assholes but many are genuine individuals minding their business. I have had unsafe encounters with men and so have many of my friends who are women. It's absolutely disturbing how many people have been victimized by sick people. However, I don't generalize this to all men because I know men are capable of being caring husbands, brothers, and friends - just like anyone else. On the other hand, people like JK Rowling push the idea that women's rights and trans rights are opposing struggles. She, and other facets of the right-wing use people like Lily Tino as proof that all trans people are predators. This fear mongering around trans people has made trans people less safe but its also led to increased scrutiny of cisgender / biological women who don't fit sexist beauty standards, for example a few months ago a lesbian was escorted out of the women's bathroom in Boston. Additionally bills legislating what bathrooms trans people use would force me, facial hair and all, into the women's restroom. Trans women are also at an increased threat of sexual violence when they are forced into male spaces. An easy solution to the potential discomfort of all parties would be more designated gender neutral bathrooms. At the same time politicians continue to pass bill after bill legislating our bodies, thousands of children have been murdered and face starvation in Gaza using our tax dollars, Epstein's victims continue to get no justice, and rent / grocery prices keep getting higher. I don't expect everyone to understand trans issues, but I do hope that we can see that this is being used to distract from much larger issues that we must come together on. So sorry for the novel, but I felt my perspective on this would add to the conversation.
