BEDLAM, part 199.

It's been a helluva weekend. I just got up and walked the dog, and I already feel exhausted. Fortunately, I had some Mink I'd prepared earlier.

The world is big, amazing, sometimes magical.....but there's only so much of it that our mere human minds can deal with at once.

BEDLAM, part 199.

As someone who has had multiple nose bleeds and pulling the semi coagulated clot out...I know how that feels to go through nose....ugh

She maybe missed out on discovering a whole new form of life!

Boy, that guy was a real snot!

Not shown: Hardee standing to one side, and taking silent mental notes. "If she has to handle something she doesn't approve of, someone will have to take it away before she can incinerate it. Next time, plans will have to be made in advance to secure unique material for further examination."

Mark Ashworth

Fetus in fetu? A literal evil twin perhaps?

Sounds to me like the physical equivalent to what happened in the movie Prodigy. Where at the very second a genius psychopath dies, a baby boy is born, and his soul latches onto the newborn. Resulting in the boy having two completely different personas . . . one his own innocent one and the other that of the psycho's which accounts for his genius level intellect so young. That and the situation of Bruce and the Hulk, where before the Gamma tests the Hulk was just a slumbering persona in young Bruce's own mind, and imaginary friend to help with all the pain in his young life. Cut-Up likely had a really nasty childhood and life and he suffered traumas that lead to a similar scenario where the mass murdering persona finally burst forth and took over and that clump of cells with is the physical source. I know this sounds like a bunch of rambling but I'm not sure how better to word what I'm observing. Another example is in my favorite RPG videogame from the PS1 era, Xenogears. Where the hero, Fei, suffered great pains and trauma as a child and developed a separate personality to deal with it. Shoving all the pain onto the new persona until finally suffering an emotional trauma so extreme that his main persona shut down and "Id" stepped into the light and unleashed all his fury. After which, Fei awoke with a total of 3 personas, each unique in spirit and ability . . . the innocent child who locked himself away with the few good memories he held onto . . . Id, the strong and deadly assassin who could wipe out armies . . . and the Fei the player knows who stands as a voice of reason between the two others. So that different color aura likely means that Cut-up's "voice" was likely similar to Id, a separate persona so complete that it might as well have been a second person in the same body.

That's Peter's job. It's why he's a top member of OMA, to deal with the freaky weird mind-twisting stuff.

"Mom? Is it time for school?"

Perfesser Bear

Awww, no brain in jar moment. XD

MrWho

Yes, beyond any reasonable doubt. They have medical facilities suitable for brain surgery and were studying super powers, which from what we've seen are mostly bio/genetics based. For such a facility to not have the means to culture/maintain tissue samples would be absurd.

Jay Scott Raymond

Hopefully that wasn't his "good" part.

Garry Stahl

Good choice I say. One existential crisis at a time or you'll start wondering if the chair you're sitting in while reading this has 'feelings' about being sat in or if the 'you' currently in possession of your present arrangement of atoms will actually 'carry on' with those atoms in some sort of underlying quark memory constant. Lets just hope that wasn't some otherworldly entities spiritual signature on that bit of brain who is now going through the dimensional equivalent of thumping their 'TV' wondering why the signal just got shut off.

Winkin

I agree that not following up on that mystery might come back to haunt Laura (possibly literally), but: Does Bedlam really have the facilities to supply a lump of grey matter with nutrients and oxygen sufficient to keep it alive for any time?

Skunkupine

Mink, I get where you're coming from here, but that merited more study and Bedlam certainly has the biological containment facilites that would be needed.
