Whenever the translation says "bro" or "brother" thats because its a way to call people in Thai but sometimes translators just use the characters names. They use the words Phi for older person and Nong for younger person which can be translated to older brother and younger brother (if used between guys) but you use it for everyone doesn't matter if you are related, friends, boyfriend/girlfriend

Yes, you're right, iconic moments from an OG Thai BL and both these actors I felt did excellently making the audience feel their emotions, nothing over-the-top or too dramatic, just real struggling to understand and deal. Such a great drama.
