I really feel fondness for this Techno (though not as much as Mild's Techno). I hate that his love relationship is so tainted and despise his brother and the rapist. Sadly, I have heard that Mame's novels are really questionable, with Tharn sexually assaulting Type far more than in the series, and Tum and Tar being actual brothers, not stepbrothers. So a non-violent rape seems par for the course as a trigger for romance.
