If I thought it wouldn't backfire badly, I'd suggest they film themselves hauling every last trophy out of his bedroom and taking it to the dump, then leaving the recording on his bed. I'm sure there will be a way for them to express their appreciation of their host's efforts that won't give police nor lawyers evidence to work with.
