Now things are going to start heating up! Minks got dozens of close and "reliable" friends. At least half of them dangerous when provoked. Hope those rich guys have insurance out out the yin-yang for the killer-bee-hive they just kicked!

Strictly because I've had so darn many excellent settings turned sour by the reveal that all this 'magic' was actually 'technology/science'. Ugh. But that's just me, lot of baggage with that line. ^^; Anyway, excellent! I was worried it was going to take her longer to be able to get help and by then they would be to far away. o.o This is why she needs to just do that 'soul investigation' spell on EVERYONE she meets! Like back when she was rescuing the genespliced/clones, you meet someone do a quick poke around their general well being and personality and bam. You don't get roofied by a prettyboy. Super curious how that would have looked to her. As a guess I would picture her seeing him dressed in phantom of the opera style but with the outside mask being a cheesy version of his real face while the one beneath it is all his sinister intentions and, presumably, rich boy idiocy though that is a guess. He could just be a handsome thug and not have actual ties to the upper crust.
