And do I have to make this page "Patrons Only" because Snakeyes said "Sonnuvabitch"? I'm not good at judging other folks' level of prudery.

With some hunting around you should find one new for between $200-$500, and it would include usb and/or ethernet ports (both allow you to transport a file made during a scan, and the later might make it possible to perform the process directly from your computer). Just be sure what you are getting can SCAN an 11x17 sheet, not just print it (yes, you have to make very sure because for some unknown reason the manufacturers don't always seem to think a machine that can print that large needs to scan that large).
