I know its the 'fashion' for anthros to have their tails sticking out of tailored holes in their pants, and that makes sense, but overcoats are designed for protection, and even on non-tailed humans, they're hot, heavy, uncomfortable garments to keep the wearers good clothes clean and dry. By that logic, tail holes don't really 'fit' with the overcoat purpose; if you let your tail get drenched, it'll drip onto your good pants, and keeping the tail inside the coat is only slightly less comfortable than wearing the coat in the first place.
