A recent Twitter post "leaked" an interview from Toyotaro saying that Toriyama was retiring from the Dragon Ball Super manga and giving him the freedom to do what he wanted for the story. It wasn't real...but the reaction was...surprising? Let's discuss why this was bogus. The DBS Manga is about to announce its newest saga after Granolah and Chapter 86 and naturally people were anticipating news about the latest arc from Dragon Ball. This news came out from a supposed V-Jump drop where Toyotaro, Toriyama's apprentice, was saying that he was taking control and working with Yoshitaka Nagayama (from Super Dragon Ball Heroes and its manga) to make something brand new for the official series. It wasn't the case, but it was kinda plausible. Then I go on Twitter and people were kinda PRAISING Toriyama leaving the franchise, what's going on?
