I look at lotto probability similar to coin flips. If you flip a coin 10 times, the probability to get all heads is 1 in 1024 (2 values so you take 2 to the 10th power). It stands to reason that all heads has the same probability as all tails, and also ANY guess you write down on paper of random heads/tails, 1 in 1024. The same holds true for the lotto, assuming all numbers are equally likely to show up, then the probability of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 being the winning numbers are exactly the same as any random 6 numbers you pick.
