2019-10-07 01:04:14 +0000 UTCMe personally thinks that with a kind of a reasonable budget ($55M), this is going to make so much money that we may have some good old dramas and character based movies in the future. This one is not about cool scenes or fan servicing moments, it is just a great movie that even if you never heard about the joker or batman is still cohesive and touching. For me personally, there is a clear trend of people stepping back a little from the new technology, the CGI fest and that does not apply only to movies, but also for social behavior. Excess is not that desirable as it was, because we went there and it was shallow. I hope Avatar bankrupts the studio and Cameron's ego. Love you guys!

2019-10-06 22:27:18 +0000 UTCMe personally I thought it was just ok too... Not as terrifying or funny or as disturbing as Data's face in that new Picard trailer

2019-10-06 20:02:37 +0000 UTCThe little kid! He'll be Batman! BATMAN!

2019-10-06 18:27:57 +0000 UTCI liked the film, just hated the details of the Wayne connection. Also, a weird choice of music when he is dancing down the stairs towards the end. The darkness of total descension.

2019-10-06 14:04:57 +0000 UTCBest cinematic experience since Fury Road. Please have my back on this, Jay.

2019-10-05 14:31:36 +0000 UTCThis film was a very magical viewing experience for me. I really loved when he clowned and danced. And I felt like I WAS Joker, because I laughed so hard at parts when no one whatsoever else in the audience was laughing. And not, like, rolling my eyes laughter, just delighted yet slightly bitter laughter. If I were his therapist I would have encouraged him to express himself artistically through dance.

2019-10-05 10:25:31 +0000 UTCMy guess, Mike will appreciate the filmmaking, but not like it, and Jay will love it.

2019-10-05 02:33:21 +0000 UTCWhat I will say is, two things that surprised me: visuals and the score. I just presumed it'd be this flat, dull looking film but it had some pretty nice shots, suited the films tone. And the score is really impressive, again, fits the feel of the film perfectly at moments. Less so the song choices.

2019-10-05 01:22:41 +0000 UTCMy opinion (as a random internet stranger): The central problem of the film is that from the very start Arthur Fleck is clearly deeply disturbed, suffering from profound mental illness. So the audience (or at least I) can't empathize with him and his struggle. It's like watching a case study, not following a character we like or feel for. OTOH, it's certainly different - seriously downbeat and ugly. Makes "Batman v Superman" look like "Amelie."

2019-10-05 01:16:37 +0000 UTCI'm curious to hear their take on how in this film set in 1981, a viral video emerges, with multiple angles, from an amateur standup night.

2019-10-05 00:52:43 +0000 UTCI like it... I think.... some parts I really like. If nothing else I think Todd Phillips deserves credit for broadening his genres - even if he’s aping Scorsese... it was a pretty good ape.

2019-10-05 00:20:27 +0000 UTCFuck you, it's Jokeruary!
2019-10-05 00:16:31 +0000 UTCI'm on the fence about going to see this so I'm curious what our favorite drunken VCR repairmen have to say.

2019-10-05 00:06:43 +0000 UTCVery interested to hear what they have to say about this one. I liked elements of it but also had big problems with parts of it. Certainly a more interesting DC release than they've had for a while, if nothing else.

2019-10-05 00:06:41 +0000 UTCThe idea of the Joker as Travis Bickle in a clown costume is hilarious.
