In the Mouth of Madness - re:View

In the Mouth of Madness - re:View

Some great Toronto facts in here, I never knew the famous diner scene was filmed just a couple blocks from that weird Imagine Cinemas with the long hallways. I must have driven by that Bulk Barn 100 times. So cool!

Adam

Do a Re:View of Tim Curry classics Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Clue!

Domigorgon

Great Re:View.....one of my favorite 90s horror movies

Chuck Clark

When are you guys just going to do the Gremlins 2 re:View?

Steve Thone

Thanks for this! It's nice to see this underrated classic receive some recognition. I loved it.

Sammy Allouba

True. His views were abhorrent, but his stories are still the best ever.

Sammy Allouba

Jay should not be sneering at a genius like Lovecraft. The guy's prejudices were pretty standard for the 1920s.

Josh Wright

Thanks loved it. Lord Of Illusions re:View would be cool but I'm not going to tell you what to do.

Birtles

Somehow "In the Mouth of Cthulhu" would be a fitting title for a gay horror porn video.

Marvin Falz

And a town named Twin Peaks. What I've heard is that when you enter the coordinates Diane had memorized from the digit tattoo on the arm of the librarian into google maps then google maps will show you an entry for Twin Peaks, Washington.

Marvin Falz

Jay has edited in two or three clips where Prochnow's face is in profile view at the edge of the screen, does that count as a visual mention? I've just checked Prochnow's filmography, and found out that he was in three Lynch movies, Dune, Fire Walk with Me and The Missing Pieces. So it makes perfect sense to forget Prochnow. Anyway, I'm having a second on Knackwurst now.

Marvin Falz

Been meaning to watch this for years, saw you were doing a re:view so quickly found it on streaming and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for expanding my Carpenter horizons! Look forward to you discussing Alice Cooper in Prince of Darkness some time

Ali B

i can't remember if you've ever talked about it, but a movie i'd recommend is In Bruges! it's a bit of a 180° turn on this one, in context :}

Jacque M. Ferguson

Man, I can always count on RLM to bring everything back to Star Trek or A Nightmare On Elm Street sequels.

Lauren R

"Prince of Darkness" dammit!!

Silentphil9

Having grown up in small town New Hampshire, people practically worshipped the work of Stephen King, so I adored this movie when I finally got around to seeing it because I loved that they turned the idea of the "famous horror author" into something so fun! If only we had a real town named Hobb's End!

Jessie Leigh

Jay and Colin talking about anything is pure electricity.

Amy Hitchner

Rogers Video? Bulk Barn? Kraft Dinner? Colin needs to take Jay on a location tour of Toronto and get him a peameal bacon sandwich.

Backyard Stunting with Randy Butcher callback! Filmed in Toronto and Randy did stunts for In the Mouth of Madness.

Jessica & Mark Stadul

The plot device of telling a character that the other characters never existed reminds me of the show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. They always had stories that ended with the main character being told the person who helped change their tire had been dead for 10+ years.

John Radoff

I also love Escape from LA for how terrible it is. "Welcome to the human race."

John Radoff

Finally! I have been waiting for this day for years...

You're name-checking everybody and their dog, but forget German character actor Jürgen Prochnow? 🤔

Fauli Foo Foo

Dan

Respect to Colin for shouting out Rogers Video (RIP) and Bulk Barn and confusing the hell out of Jay. Oh Canada!

Was it wrong to rename this film "In the Ass of Madness" when it first came out? Asking for a friend.

Chris Campion

Money. Well. Spent.

David Given

I wonder how much of the Patreon money goes towards keeping Jay's hair and beard perfectly groomed and trimmed. He never has a bad hair day or bad beard day, it is unbelievable.

Cool. Something to watch tonight. Too bad I don’t have a Timmy’s to go with it.

Mike St Louis

Oh snap, I wasn't expecting a video so quickly after yesterday's update! Awesome.

One of my fav Carpenter films. Great adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's work.

Dan Schoening

Awesome!

Ruku

oh my god this makes me so happy.
