Space Cop HQ

Here are some detail shots of the Space Cop Headquarters building that was built and painted by Canadian Jim. The base was made up of plastic containers mainly, with model kit pieces used for details. The OT Star Wars influence is strong. Here's a fun little behind the scenes video of Jim and Colin constructing the ring around the globe at the top:

Yesterday, Jim also posted a high res picture of one of the matte paintings he did for Space Cop:

I like the coloring of the cryo lab scenes, the light purple, the blue, the orange tones, reminds me of the original Star Trek series, its rich coloring. I like how they visually and with the use of music and sound effects show Space Cop's character and how they tell the story. One of my fav transitons and scenes is after Space Cop and the aliens have whirled through the time portal. First you hear nothing. You see Space Cop lying on the ground in the woods. Desolate music sets in. He limps to the lake and sees the missing tower. I believe that's the only serious scene (scene without joke) in the whole movie and it really works well.

That looks great! I wish the rest of the movie was as good as that miniature. A bunch of great entertaining people made a really un-entertaining movie. IT SUBVERTED EXPECTATIONS! LOLOLOLOLOLOL (REPEATX100) By the way my brother really appreciates you spoiling The Last Jedi in a review or two just after TLJ came out. SPACE COP SUBVERTED EXPECTATIONS! LOLOLOLOL!

One of my favorite things about your stuff is that you guys make and repurpose everything. It gives the costumes and little props charm because they have a history. It's fun to recognize them. I call dibs on that stupid gorilla suit if you ever auction it.

I was really surprised by the miniature work in space cop, the moon, SC HQ, the alien ship, were all great. And immediately In the opening with the future buildings stuck in, the blast off and those opening credits were great. Hats off

Jim is a national treasure. A very dry national treasure.
