The base was made up of plastic containers mainly, with model kit pieces used for details. The OT Star Wars influence is strong. Here's a fun little behind the scenes video of Jim and Colin constructing the ring around the globe at the top:

2019-04-11 17:34:09 +0000 UTCI like the coloring of the cryo lab scenes, the light purple, the blue, the orange tones, reminds me of the original Star Trek series, its rich coloring. I like how they visually and with the use of music and sound effects show Space Cop's character and how they tell the story. One of my fav transitons and scenes is after Space Cop and the aliens have whirled through the time portal. First you hear nothing. You see Space Cop lying on the ground in the woods. Desolate music sets in. He limps to the lake and sees the missing tower. I believe that's the only serious scene (scene without joke) in the whole movie and it really works well.
