I had a run in with the TAPS Ghost Hunters show in 2008. I worked at a historical society in Simsbury CT for some time and we were contacted by them to help research a local ghost story. Some second string guys came onsite to speak with us and while filming a bunch of b-roll to be used in the episode the crew and I got to chatting. After hitting it off over lunch they basically admitted it was all bullshit and that they were just stoked to be working and making a buck on it. The two hosts that own TAPS may or may not believe but their crew certainly thought it was all ridiculous. I write this stuff down to a lack of imagination. I mean if I suddenly discovered that i came back as a non-corporeal entity with free will I would immediately explore some cool far away part of the earth. Alternatively I would go see another planet, solar system or galaxy. Heck with a universe as big as ours I probably wouldn't see any reason to be back here at all before it ended. I mean think about it. You have just died only to discover that life on earth is just the start of your journey. With this discovery you also know that everyone you love and care for will be re-born into the same afterlife when they die. Hence any incentive to stick around is suddenly gone.

I can't even watch those shows to laugh at the people in them. I get a stomach ache after about 30 seconds and I have to switch it off. It's the same reaction I have to Lifetime original movies.

The new Star Trek series should be about the ghost of Captain Kirk haunting Picard for burying him under a pile of rocks in Generations. At the end we find out it was just Q dicking around with him the whole time.
