You guys heard about Tarantino developing a script for the next Kelvin timeline film? Around the time of the release of the Hateful Eight he was on Nerdist podcast (around 1hr 7min mark) where he talked about how he wanted to flesh out "Yesterday's Enterprise" into a feature length film. Then, I started to think to myself how potentially moving it would be to have a bittersweet father and son adventure a la Last Crusade. (Look, my father was always a bit of a mystery to me so maybe I'm deeply biased towards such stories.) Look I realize in this day and age, fandom doesn't matter. It is as if we've gone towards the "Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning" and ended up on the Walt Disney Pictures logo.

Yeah the show lost me for a while at that point - it was obvious from the getgo that the tardigrade was suffering and then it took a whole extra episode before Michael started to suspect something was wrong

I'm expecting a DS9 re:View when Mike is done with his re-watch. Maybe a whole season of re:View. We all know that Mike in his heart of hearts wants to do more episodes about Star Track.

Enslaving and torturing a creature, that’s the starfleet I know

This was delightful - - Did anyone else think from the way they edited the scene where Paul and mirror Paul came out of the astral plane that they had switched bodies? the scene was put together like a twist/reveal but in the next episode everything was back to normal

Can we start a sub-Patreon to get Rich Evans some new shoes?

So, yay or nay? I liked the first and third reboot films and have passing familiarity with TOS and Next Gen, but that's it. Should I bother watching this one?

Think of it as research: TOS represents the pure essence of Star Trek. Low budget, campy, preachy but there are some real gems in there. You get to see Khan for first time, Trelaine (a baby Q), Sarek, Majel Barret (voice of the computer in TNG) and last but not least the ... super ... halting ... deliveryOfWilliamShatner!

Star Trek was my father's thing. He knows all the episodes of TOS by heart. I never got into Star Trek because of that : it's my dad's thing. Listening to Mike and Rich discussing it makes me question whether or not I'm missing something, though.

I like this re:View. Can't say that I care about Discovery, but I'm always in favor of listening to Mike and Rich talk endlessly about Star Trek. I might even delve thoroughly into TNG one day.

My guess is we'll never see the interior of the Enterprise.

That's a brilliant idea. It seems so obvious now that I've considered it. It would help people have proper expectations. You won't be disappointed if there's no horror in your romantic comedy, and you won't be disappointed if there's no hard science or deep philosophy in your "future action." Great idea.

I feel like we need a new category for Science Fiction that doesn't have much science in it. Like Future Action or something. I don't mind periodic focus on action plots, but if it's all just a Space Soap Opera with explosions I lose interest.
