Oh man, that too! Yeah I tried keeping track of all the original ST I-VI nods, but there were a lot!

The fusion joke was probably a reference to "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" after Kirk was beamed up on the Enterprise. "Enterprise, what we got back didn't live long... fortunately." I actually can't wait for Mike's speacial treatment picking up every reference or little nod to the series.

I couldn't tell if the transporter fusion joke was a reference to Tuvix or to when Spock put his memory and mind into Bones! Both are equally funny nods! I loved this movie. Can we just get more Star Trek in our lives again?

Please tell me Mike's tricorder diagnosis of "definitely is breast cancer" is a The Room reference

I could listen to Mike talk about Star Trek for ever. I loved VI too, it was basically a hopeful movie about the cold war ending, while it was ending, but in language I could understand as a high school kid.

Can we all just talk about Krull for 5 hours?

I was surprised at how close Mike's opinion was to mine. Not only did I love this movie, but I also thought it resembled Wrath of Khan more than Into Darkness did. On top of that I thought I was the only person that loved Star Trek VI. Probably my favorite Star Trek movie of all time.

The last 15 minutes was gold! Reminded me of Nick Offerman's Yule Log where he just stares at you drinking scotch for 45 minutes. (Lagavulin tastes like wool socks from the army surplus, by the way)

Not to be confused with the European cut featuring even more silence and "artistic" nudity.

I half-expected the OJ Simpson workout tape to start dripping blood once Jay picked it up.

Yes, although slightly less horrific than the transporter accident.

Looking forward to the Episode 113 director's cut featuring an extra ten minutes of silence.

Is the end of this video a reference to Star Trek The Motion Picture (1979) ?

Finally, a real Star Trek TOS story that carries the message of hope and exploration that Starfleet and the Federation stand for. Lots of techno babble, humor, fun, acceptable action, and character moments that are both insightful and rewarding. Thank you Simon Pegg, looking forward to Discovery now!
