Mark Twain

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), known by the pen name Mark Twain, was an American writer, humorist, and essayist. He was praised as the "greatest humorist the United States has produced",[1] with William Faulkner calling him "the father of American literature".[2] Twain's novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884),[3] with the latter often called the "Great American Novel". He also wrote A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1889) and Pudd'nhead Wilson (1894) and cowrote The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today (1873) with Charles Dudley Warner. The novelist Ernest Hemingway claimed that "All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn."

Langdon Plaza, where her home once was, is about 10 blocks from my house (there is an OK pizza place and a scamy business school there). And the Gazebo he wrote a bunch novels at, I walked by that every day for a decade on my way to work. Coolest Twain story though is I got to drink a bunch of beers on his porch, right outside the library of his former home. But I'll always be sad I wasn't able to smoke a cigar there. Side note: seeing Oliva's real-life dress size is terrifying.

Come to Reno - Virginia City is just down the road and it's still in the 1800's. We also have whiskey and pinball and can teach you how to properly pronounce Nevada.
