Wouldn't building the canal in nicaragua wouldn't that destroy the lake with the influx of sea water. Can't imagine the government agreeing to that.

Would have been fun to tie this in with your earlier episode on the Darien Scheme, when the Scottish settlers tried to build an overland trade route but discovered that heavy woollen jumpers and kilts weren't exactly ideal for equatorial jungles.
