Con artist Marilyn Fryser (Joan Collins) has a steady and profitable racket. Along with an unscrupulous ship captain (Robert Lansing), she takes gullible investors on a cruise of the Everglades and persuades them to invest in a housing development that will never be. But when she and her latest group of suckers go ashore on a small island, they're horrified to discover that illegally dumped toxic waste has created a breed of giant ants set on human destruction.

Thank you for posting this here Tim! I'm so glad I requested this! I wonder if some of your older viewers will recognize Joan Collins. She would later play Alexis Carrington in the hit tv soap opera series DYNASTY. Also, Robert Pine who played the guy who leaves his wife to the ants was in the cop TV show CHIPs and is also the father of actor Chris Pine. Horror fans might recognize Pamela Shoop who played one of the nurses who gets killed by Michael Myers in the hot tub in HALLOWEEN II (1981). Finally, Dana Kaproff who did the music score for this film also did the scary music score for WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (1979).
