Poll Time! The Question of Futanari
Added 2021-10-22 12:46:53 +0000 UTCUPDATE: Hey all, firstly thanks to everyone who voted and commented. I figured I'd reply here rather than on every comment as it would take about half the day and I'm up against it time-wise with the scope of the animation I'm working on.
tl;dr at the end.
I had a feeling this would be contentious but was surprised at the strength of the emotions from both sides, as well as impressed by the well-reasoned arguments coming forth.
From reading all the comments the one thing that I've decided is that if I add futa it would be as an optional extra rather than something fully integrated (e.g. I won't be making a monthly reward without a non-futa option). This page is, after all, first and foremost about the BE.
Which presents a problem, because I want to do it properly, not just wack a dick on and pretend like it's not a thing. Having a pathway on The Pill may be a way to do it, with a popup at the main screen allowing people to pick whether or not they want to experience it.
But before any of that, I have still got plenty of existing work to finish the current chapter of The Pill, and to start changing up the endings as per the 1500 patron community reward. So for the time being it's something that I'm going to put a pin in to address at a later date
I thank you all again for sharing your thoughts on the matter. I know The Grove will never be all things to all people but your responses help me plot out a path that will keep as many people happy (and horny) as possible.
tl;dr I can see there is considerable demand for futa, but if I add it, it'll be optional and not until I've cleared the existing work first.
For quite some time now I've had folks ask me whether futa should be included in my standard bag of tricks, and in particular whether it should be included in 'The Pill'.
I personally have nothing against futa and enjoy it when it's done well, but wanted to know what the general consensus is about the subject.

2021-10-23 19:26:29 +0000 UTCI'm most likely gonna sound like a jerk, but i don't like futa in the mix here. In the mix that's here fetish wise it all works under the umbrella of BE. It's what brought me here in the first place. If things started going futa it would be a turn off for me and I might end up cancelling my sub too. I know it kind makes sense to to something like the pill but i really don't want it, and at the end of the day it's kind the creator's decision. There's a lot going on here with growth and fmg too, futa for me is too much.

But even if you add it and people don't like it, you always make it optional to stay away from anything that you don't want in your game, so I don't think it would hurt to put it in either way.

2021-10-23 00:05:08 +0000 UTCI think the problem is one of tone and consistency with your other work... I'd almost suggest you start a separate Patreon for futa content if you were interested in producing it. Otherwise you might jeopardize the brand and audience you've established so far.

2021-10-22 19:02:22 +0000 UTCi love futa as a whole and also love futa PE/ball growth stuff! i think it'd be amazing to include with the other transformations, and feel strongly in favor of futa + female over male + female, but that being said the main reasons i joined were for BE (and now height growth lol) so i understand if it doesn't get added and/or that other people may not be a fan

However if it ends up being a choice between even bigger BE or adding futa, I think BE would be best. There are many other people who do futa so well but noone does BE as well as you so I guess only do it if it feel right.

2021-10-22 14:41:10 +0000 UTCWow, quite the range of opinions on this one. It seems like having at some point a single Futa pill option would be greatly appreciated by some and utterly avoided by others. I think that is okay for a niche fandom but I wonder how you feel about the polarizing split.
