Setting up for a Sweater

Ah, the night before a sweater, what a lovely thing.  In this video about swatches and the alternating cast on and why I chose it, and have a look at my fabric and gauge. (It was bang on, first time. Truly a charmed swatch, I tell you.)

I'm sorry it's so late, and that the sound isn't perfect. Joe's still) away (I just hauled a tree to the curb by myself in an epic wrestle that left the house covered in needles and me smelling of sap) and it turns out he's a really, really helpful guy. He's back soon, so wonky sound and long edits and weird uploads should soon be a memory.

Fondly,

Stephanie

(PS. Thanks to the math knitters who pointed out that 16+16 is not 28.  True, and terrible news. I'll be doing my swatch again. )

Is the alternating cable cast on suitable for top down sock cuffs

Really helpful video Steph! One question about using the smaller needle for cast on and then switching to the ribbing needle: will you do just the cast on in the smaller needle, or do the cast on + one row before switching? I couldn’t quite follow which, and thought doing the latter may give more stability to the cast on stretchiness .

Same question as Heidi. How do you approach row gauge mis-matches?

In the last video you mentioned doing a modified conventional bind off. Will you show that? Or does anyone know if it's in an old video?
