the tiny doodles are my takes on characters from king falls am, a podcast i've been binging lately; the studies are to help me amp up my colour theory.
i like to make my paintings more realistic, and i think colour plays a bigger part in that than form - so while i find these quite wonky (apart from the girl with plaits, jenny nicholson, i'm happy with her face haha) i think i got the colours quite right.
artsy talk: my process has almost always been going from greyscale to colours, and i think that takes up a lot of time and doesn't always work in favour of the colour palette in the end. i wanna excercise my painting muscle some more and start going straight to colours, you know, like a proper human usually would.
this is the last of the march posts, i will see you folks in may! reminder, april is a hiatus month, i'll be back in a month with some goodies.
