Added 2018-05-10 18:05:53 +0000 UTChi guys! i bring you the step by step in gif form, as per change i talked about a couple of posts ago. i also took note to document subtler changes, since the gifs are less bulky than the step-by-step documents and can cover more steps.
and, as promised, please let me know what part is not clear or what you'd like me to shed light on, and i'll make an additional post where i can (hopefully exhaustively) address any questions!

this boy has given me quite a lot of trouble, and you can see me struggling with the face and pose. the struggle was worth it though, because i'm happy with how he came out :)
from the gifs it may seem like i leave any lighting/effects for the very end, but i make them pretty early on (sketchy versions of them). i then keep them in one folder and toggle off the visibility so that i can work in piece undistracted, and i occasionally toggle them on to see what the painting will look like at the end with all the shebang.
i will include the full size version of lamia/mermaid in the next wrap up, and the high res version of melios will stay with the commissioner, as does every commission.
