I think I made a separate comment instead of responding to you sorry! But I will get to you redlining as well and can give you some tips there as well . it's easier to show than to explain

You're welcome! And I started over with the hair coloring , It didn't feel right with the lightning for some reason haha. I usually start with the bangs as well, and start working to the sides.. sometimes the technique you're using is right but you just need to repeat yourself to able to make it more natural. Just like sport exercising ! It might be hard in the beginning but keep repeating (but don't overdo it you still have to enjoy yourself )

Thank you for putting this together! It is both awesomely fun and quite insightful, especially because I am still a big fan of this piece. I still love how she looks, the colors, and the composition. One thing I am curious about is her hair. Between the 5th and 6th frame, the way you shaded the hair on top of her head changed. Was this part of a two-step process or did you decide to completely redo it? I am still focusing on drawing heads myself in my free time. When drawing hair, I start by breaking it down into simple shapes (leaves, squares, curvy waves, etc.), but when I try to add strands or breaks (such as those on Lily’s forehead), it comes off looking fake or unnatural (i.e., looks choppy, does not merge well, or does not taper naturally). I also tend to start drawing from the bangs and then work my way toward the back of the head. Certainly, practicing and looking at more references would help, but I was wondering if you have any tips or tricks when drawing hair for your works. Thanks!
