I do want to keep both: her uncertainty regarding Thistle and inability to face Tempest.

Not all those ideas are lost; there's still Page 149 based on old Page 147 ^^

it's a shame that we lose some basic idea in the original like Rust is a liar room or the idea that Thistle wouldn't want her anymore on this whim. but here we find another idea the fact that Tempest spreads an unstoppable fear in the memory of the pony and even worse in the children who would have seen it very closely. and especially since in the last shot she is alone. alone as in those nightmares in the middle of nothing from a point of view of these emotions. so for this page number I had for the new one and for the old one.

Lux The Pegasus

In the earlier scene Thistle did hold/shield Lu, but she also scolded her for being disobedient and sent her away. So Lu probably feels some sort of break in her connection to Thistle. And Fizzlepop "coolest mom ever" Berrytwist turned out to be the one creature she fears more than Rusty. So hinging her inability to go back on Tempest, that's an inception/manipulation I can believe is going to take. And basic enough to be something the Rusty I imagine would come up with on the fly.

Now this ... is goood. He' using what he knows is on her mind right now against her. Is the last panel supposed to have a speach bubble, not a thought bubble? It feels like something she'd think, not say out loud. Or maybe a combination of both? I really like how the last two panels illustrate her fear and loneliness.

Upsetting people is often a side effect of novel and great content.
