New tablet! Woo-hoo!
Added 2020-12-18 10:06:02 +0000 UTCIt has been a pretty cr*ppy week, but there is some good news. Friends and family have chipped in to buy me a new tablet for my upcoming birthday, to replace my old and sometimes ailing Wacom Cintiq 13HD ^_^
Meet Wacom Cintiq 16 Creative Pen Display, which is bigger, has a much more solid and flexible stand (good for my neck) and better pressure sensitivity. I have also recently updated Clip Studio Paint to EX version and finally tweaked my workspace.
Unfortunately, I have been too unwell to test it properly just yet, but I will make up for it tomorrow during Picarto stream :-)

But then Intuos is a perfectly fine tablet that doesn't need a separate desk ;-) I think any tool is good for learning as long as *you* like using it. Digital art is different from traditional art in many ways, but the building blocks of art, such as perspective, colour, storytelling concepts or anatomy are the same. I would say that the biggest problem with learning how to draw is not talent (because everyone can learn basic skills, talent is what makes things easier and results exceptional ), but lack of any road map. For me, the best way to learn is to find a good online class that builds skills step by step by developing a project ^^ That way you don't have to worry about *what* and *how*, you just focus on practice and enjoy the process. Thank you! Hopefully, the antibiotic will kick in any minute now.

Don't open the damn Photoshop!" "Relax, I just want to see what you drew with it... ... ... Is that a... stick-man? And... another stick-man? And--" "Don't judge me! ... and stop smirking damn it!" Plus, my Wacom Intuos is collecting dust. I just can't get myself to draw anything that doesn't look like it came out of a kindergarten class :( (is it even a good idea to start with a tablet? Or should someone who is at level zero start with a pencil and paper instead?). But if Wacom ever starts selling a 'Talent Included' edition, let me know ;] P.S. Whatever is bugging you on the health side, I hope you get better soon :)
