Patreon updates - annual pledges available!
Added 2020-09-23 06:54:30 +0000 UTCHi all! Since it's getting close to October, I wanted to make a quick post about this recent update before I forget.
Patreon recently enabled some creators (I guess they're doing a slow rollout of this feature?) to allow people to pay annually instead of monthly. It also allows me to set a discount for new annual pledges! Because of that, you can now get a 10% discount on your total if you decide to switch and pay for the entire year.
I especially recommend this to people who are on the $1/month tier, because it's only $10.80 for the year for you, and it also cuts down on how many fees are taken out from those small pledges by Patreon. Each transaction gets a fee taken out of it by Patreon (on top of the fee to transfer money to my external accounts), so the less often they have to process a transaction, the better! The same discount also applies to the $5 tier, so if you have the funds for it, that is also a good deal.
You don't have to switch if you don't want to or don't have the funds, by the way! This is just a new option with some nice benefits. :D (tbh, one of the first times in a long time where Patreon has made a change and I went, "huh, that's actually nice")

2020-09-23 21:46:51 +0000 UTCThat actually made me increase my payment a bit as you can choose a free amount per year as long as it's higher than the minimum. And the yearly method also often reduces fees on (non-US) credit cards. <3
