big boye video in progress

ello everyone, enjoy this very scuffed frame from the animatic of my next video :D

just wanted to give you all an update on how progress is going- im currently working on the animatic however i am starting to realise that it is quite the chonky project. there are 11 scenes in total and they are all rather complex. for comparison most of my animations have around 8 scenes and i usually aim to animate 1 per day, so i would estimate this video would take just over 2 weeks to animate if i start a week from now (when im back in germany). after that it would need editing & sound design, which can also take up to 2 weeks…meaning the video would most likely come out in a month from now at the earliest.

(i know you guys are super patient and wouldn’t mind, but i just personally don’t like to leave too long gaps between my videos, and i find it hard to work on one large project for a long time)

soooo i have a few options

least likely is that i hire another animator to help, the issue with this is that i’d have to spend extra time tidying up my animatics so other people can understand them..plus the whole process of finding someone then explaining everything takes time too, along with the fact that most professions freelance animators take longer to animate than i do (for good reason of course), i think we would just take the same amount of time in the end factoring all of this in

another option would be to shorten the script, usually this would not be too difficult as i can often just take out one or two scenes without it changing the video too much, but in this particular instance every scene is quite important and im not sure if i will be able to shorten it much, if at all. but still, maybe i can figure something out

and finally i could put this video on hold for a little while and work on something simpler to go up first. which of course means coming up with a whole new video idea that is still a good video yet isn’t too complex, but.. that’s still entirely possible

anyways, ill figure something out. im not really looking for help or advice with this post, just kinda wanted to give you an update on how things are going and document my thought process i guess? either way dont worry about me, thank you for reading this far if you have and i hope you enjoy the next video whatever happens to it :D
