I know I haven't made an update in the past week. After finishing the assembly sequence I wanted to upload it here on Patreon but it doesn't seem like you can upload videos. As far as this new shot has been coming along, I'll be honest, it hasn't! I've actually been stumped, not with the scene itself and what it's supposed to accomplish, but how to introduce it.
Originally I was going to have a landscape vista panning to the right where Metal Gear would climb into frame. however I came to realize I don't know how to draw landscapes. This entire time I've been drawing concrete, solid interiors but now it's an all natural setting so I'm way out of my comfort zone.
The setting would be inspired by The Great Karoo in South Africa, known for its many historical extinction events what with the amount of fossils that have been found in the region, so how appropriate would it be to have a nuclear rocket fired from here. I'm thinking I will eventually get to the vista shot once Metal Gear finds the right spot for launch, but this next shot I'll be working on will simply be showing off Metal Gear walking, or trotting, or moving at a brisk pace. I'll figure it out.
I'm thinking of having it escorted by two tanks just because I want to push myself. That's what that oddly composed image of Metal Gear is, as I drew a few images while at work and slapped together the best legs and body into a single sketch to work from as a guide. Okay, enough rambling from me, better get to work!
