Bad News Update
Added 2019-08-03 10:39:17 +0000 UTCThe IT specialists think that the problem isn't the hard drives so much as it's the adapter being too low a voltage (9v instead of 12v). The 9v adapter I bought about a week ago was a replacement for my crapped out 12v so they ordered the same 12v model adapter on Wednesday. They got the new adapter on Friday however it's a completely different model as the one they ordered went out of stock. They asked me to bring in my broken 12v and they're going to try and repair it.
If it does work they're going to go over the devices and check all the data is there and undamaged as they think the faulty 12v could have caused damage to the hard drives internals as I was originally hot wiring the torn wires to get my hard drives going.
I haven't been working on the project since my last post as if I'm unable to get my project's data back then it'd be for nothing. It feels weird not being productive, almost empty and purposeless.

That has to be such an awful feeling. I feel absolutely gutted if I lose even half a day's worth of work, but losing that much more must really feel terrible. If it turns out for the worst, at least you can hold your head high knowing that you were working on something that people were truly looking forward to. People believe in you and your work enough to contribute, and will likely contribute to whatever your next project may be.
