But, i've been a biut frustrated by my own art recently. And Arcane season 2 came.
Out of the story, the visuals are.. wonderfull
And felt like i had to shake myself and propose something, or at least work that drawer muscle. So Let's use arcane as base.
Wanna learn some of their visual trick.
So for non artist here, don't mean "now i'm gonna draw some arcane only" no XD
I prefer to tell it in case you would believe that.
No, just learning some new tricks often help with your own style. From Arcane there's 3 things i wanna learn and get
1 composition of pictures, change from my usual a bit lame composition and push that forward, and also a bette play in colours. Always been my weakest point in my opinion
2 More painty style. Used to watercolor a LOT and didn't touched my paints in years, so, wanna shake that muscle and learn some paint skill on pc.
3 those angular complex faces. So ll double with some Asaro head model study, wanna shake that muscle and be able to propose more complex face colour/shading.
So inthe next weeks ll try to do 1 to 2 h study at least 2 or 3 times a week as warm up.
My program would be, first : Study and directly repain scene from arcane, faces, then more complex plan etc etc. And on the side more asaro heads study. Idea is learn
Then when i'm more savy on those tech, move and apply those lesson to some of my composition, maybe retake old drawing and redo them this way.
And third part would be to just apply it to my usual art style.
Just wanna learn new tricks. ^^
Anyway, ll just update this thread when i add new ones
25/11/2024 = First session, 1h30/40 min, 2 Asaro head, one redline on arcane picture to learn structure, plus one quick paint of eye then 1 Face of Arcane Powder
28/11/2024 : Study was a bit different, i tried to apply visual elements and cue of Arcane with my usual drawing technique, instead of painting directly. Kick i have is often i use too many highlight, it give a sort of" wet flesh" look, that is not suitable everytime. So it's also a thing i try to avoid here

2024-12-02 07:45:30 +0000 UTCthat's sweet, but if i captured the mood, that's not what i try to do here X) point is to get some experience by copying some technique.a bit like if you wanted to learn how to build a bird house, you look at books and then some tutorials and you try to build one, your first try would look alike the video one you saw, but the point was to learn how to, ad yours is clearly flawed, it's ok, you get the XP anyway ^^

2024-12-02 05:38:39 +0000 UTCI’m not an artist so don’t take this as any serious criticism but just something I noticed. The work in Arcane is truly impressive and it looks great but you get quite close to it. There are some differences here and there like maybe some of the faces being a bit more sharp compared to Arcane but you still pull it off with your own spin on it. Like with Jinx’s face, maybe some of the eye work is different but it’s still Jinx, like you still captured her whole mood. Is good work my man :D
