Tutorial: Making really great hooves and bonding Minky

We are working more with Dream Vision Creations these days and we picked up these hooves at a con recently. We used this adhesive.

1. Cut your Minky into an adequate size, Iron out any wrinkles
2. Start with the middle and spray the adhesive directly in the crack of the hooves. Take a popsicle stick and spread it around in there. Wait about 30 seconds and then press the minky down onto the adhesive and smooth with your hands
3.Work your way outward, in sections allowing 30 seconds for the glue to get tacky each time (this is important) and smoothing the minky over the surface with your hands. Repeat for both sides.
4. Use hot glue to tack down the minky on the bottom rim of the hooves. Later you can cover this with the rubber for the soles.
5. For the upper rim of the hooved, leave a little lip unglued so that you can  sew your foot fur to this later.

Hope this helps! Big thanks to Monty for his experimentation with this.

Its definitely better for me because there is less chance of mistake and BOY are the ears smooth. I will be uploading a ear gluing tutorial soon as I took lots of pics. I do like it more than glue but you have to be patient with it, it does not adhere right away. It is also not as strong unless you apply it correctly. Id recommend picking some up for sure but it cant replace hot glue entirely for me.

Does this adhesive look better than hot glue? How was your experience using it? I’ve glued down minky in the ears with hot glue and when I press on it to smooth it out with my hands or popsicle stick, the glue seeps through to the surface.
