What if he came back into the car back then? Yes, Crowley is going to fast and Aziraphale isn't ready yet, can't be ready yet. But he also cannot leave without making sure Crowley knows that he will eventually catch up.

Also he is doing his absolute best to not cry while handing over the thermos along with something so dangerous🥲 Just like me when I realised that I spent hours looking for Bentley references and now you cannot even see most of it 😆 Just kidding, it's all worth it. And before anyone mentions it - I know it's not really accurate to the real life model anyway. The mirror thingy next to the steering wheel is missing for example, but that was on purpose because otherwise you wouldn't really be able to see the hands properly😋 I'll leave the accurate car illustrations to the car enthusiasts!
