Painting: Annual Crowley Redraw!
Added 2022-01-06 22:50:10 +0000 UTCIt's done! I once again finished my yearly "Draw This Again" challenge, for the second time with Crowley! Normally, I would try to finish this redraw on Jan 1st in a single day but this time I gave myself the first whole week of January(or my wrist would've died haha).
I genuinely expected I'd simply draw the exact same thing again, I didn't think his face would look different or I'd render the hair any other way than I did in the piece from last year. But gosh does he look different! Last year's piece was my favourite Crowley painting I had ever made but repainting it made me realise how...ill he actually looks in it. I'm not trying to hate it but I definitely love the new one more. I could honestly spend another 50 hours on this, changing the background again to a darker colour with more contrast, rendering individual hairs but I decided it's fine to leave it like this. I think my favourite part are the eyebrows and the lips hehe
What do u think? The new one or the old one? π§

I think I like the teal background and heavy shadow (shocking, given my love of yellow), but the pinky-orange light is so good on the new one, and it's interesting to see how differently you draw him now!
