Ramble: I'm always hungies. Feed Skitty. [Weird food combos] [Bucket list foods from around the world] [23min]

Listen to me ramble about foods!...

I think I'm a little basic.

I can proudly say I've never had a pumpkin spice latte, but I think I need a friend to take me on a foodie adventure. 🍛🍧🥙🫕

Tell me, what are your fav foods? Or most interesting dishes you've tried? I wanna know! :3

🫐 Before I go... I just googled blueberry steak. Drool, a blueberry glaze does look pretty cool.  Still having trouble imagining the flavor profile, but I'd try it.

Man... this ignited all my cravings I never got to satisfy ever since the pandemic started. Sushi, Korean BBQ, pho, Pad Thai, sashimi rice bowl.... 🤤😭🤤😭🤤😭

Nathesium

Shakshouka has quickly become one of my favourite dishes. Perfect thing to cook when my vegetables are getting a little old

DeeKayBlitz

Ooh gochujang is so good. I'd love some tteokbokki right now. Squishyyyy

SkittyKat

Oh the downfalls of being a vegan. Any sauce with gochujang in it though. Makes the food seem more edible.

Mister Mediocrity

I just googled how fancy these soups are... Thousands of dollars per kilogram. Maybe the pat dealer should go into the nest soup business. :3

SkittyKat

My family moved around a lot between different states/countries when I was a kid so we got exposed to a lot of different types of food. I think the most interesting thing I got to try would probably be birds nest soup. My mom told me the birds make the nests out of saliva right after I ordered so I was dreading it, but it was surprisingly pretty good.

CrawFather

Ape brain reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. O_O How'd you come across a dish like that?

SkittyKat

Puffin! Never thought of them as a dish. Now I have to google. What about non-raw fish options for sushi? I ate California rolls and cucumber rolls for the longest time.

SkittyKat

There's an overpopulation of roos in some parts of Australia, right? I'd be apprehensive about eating them, but maybe it would be good for the ecosystem?... maybe? Farm was good. Got to hold a 2 week old lamb. She was a cutie :D

SkittyKat

Not looking forward to work. Rather stay in bed. But I'm alright today. Got good sleep. Thank you for hug :3 *hugs back* <33 Hope you're enjoying your Sunday

SkittyKat

Type-1 is a tricky beast... I wonder if being exposed to so many different cuisines makes your diet more interesting than other diabetics'. It's nice to have options. Your palate is so diverse, I'm impressed :D

SkittyKat

So you're saying, try a honey pickle Hawaiian pizza? Hmm... :)

SkittyKat

Oh durian! I've heard a lot about it. I'd like to try it one day. And I always add a lil extra something to my instant noodles. Eggs are the perfect go to :)

SkittyKat

I think it's so cool that you're into the culinary arts. It's a wonderful skill to have :)

Loved the ramble, thanks Skitty, 😊. Nothing wrong with having a cuddle buddy, I've been taking an extra pillow to bed lately and find it comforting to snuggle with. Weirdest foods I've eaten on purpose was crocodile, emu and kangaroo. Last one was a bit awkward as my mum rescues and looks after baby roos. Not on purpose was probably the flakes of ceramic that my Dad included in a custard. Thought he may have burned it a bit cause it was crunchy, but after checking the dish I realized he'd accidentally gouged parts of it out while serving. 🤢 Glad to hear you're still trying to cut back on the coffee, proud of ya! If I could give you some of the excess Iron my body retains then I would, otherwise I wish you a speedy recovery and a pleasant trip to the farm.

So I think I have weird food that I have eaten it's: horse meat, shark fin, chopped in half boiled lamb head, puffin and lamb meat smoked in lamb turd. Icelandic delicacies are sure weird. That said I never had sushi in any form because I'm scared of raw fish but I really want to try it.

i hope your doing alright skitty *hug*

Howdy Skitty, hope you're doing well. Food and I have a rocky road of a history. I grew up extremely picky, but I improved with age. I've lived in Poland, India, and Honduras, with parents who grew up international so I've been exposed to several cultures of food. For me, I like my food spicy (flavorful not hot) and my drinks mild/sweet. After being diagnosed with type-1 diabetes I've had to become mindful of my cooking/eating out. My childhood was marked with Thai food and Mexican (not Tex-Mex); my dad spent his high school in Thailand and my family had a lot of Hispanic friends in their church. My year and a half in Poland introduced me to borscht, which is a stand out as a most central European foods are too bland for me. Indian cuisine is bursting with flavor and more healthy than not. My favorites include: Thai green chicken curry and curry of any kind, sushi, grilled salmon, shrimp and asparagus stir-fry, butter chicken, gyros, hibachi ... honestly anything East/Southeast Asian, Latin American, Mediterranean, and a couple East European dishes mixed in.

Loved this ramble and skitty you sound like you could use a steaming bowl of ramen. Glad to hear someone else wants pineapple on pizza, I can say honey on pizza is delicious and if you haven’t tried it, pickle slices on pizza is also delicious

Woah~~ this is a very good ramble!! Ya know captain, ma dad is from da jungle (literally)😂. So when we went to his country, he showed us all sorta food he ate as a kid (we tried da grilled grasshoppers but he also told us how there are cave-spiders as big as puppies and how to hunt them and how tasty it is lol). No to da no for me on that one😅 hoppers tasted like fries but surprisingly better! Just not used to it. Da Jungle has a different menu when u hungry. Despite being very loving and kind to animals (he also only buys meat from farmers directly where u can observe how neighbouring animals are treated), he just loves rambling about food and how to cook it. No off-Button. I could never watch a single animal-documentary with his side of the family without being told how to properly cook da targeted organisms from scratch. This is how he got mom I think lol you also mentioned his country btw😂 she is not supposed to be used to like his culture’s food to THAT degree. Also u know durian? As good as mixing mango with coconut-ice cream~~ try Bratwurst too captain! I realized by now this is gonna be pretty long so thanks for still reading lol👍 U can make cup-noodles more „healthy“ yourself with basic spicy cup noodles if u feel like u need something cheap and fast, even if u don’t like spicy. Something that smells strong. Put raw egg in bowl, add da powder and mayonnaise to make it less spicy, then mix til it is soup. Meanwhile cut up veggies u like and boil noodles. Then add boilin water to egg-soup and add noodles. So good and cheap I still cry everytime i eat it. There is also those from Korea and Japan that are made of „real“ noodles since some are known not to be too healthy lol I left ma country many years ago and sorta ended up in a Muli-culture-city so there is all sorta new food to try even after years😂 I never seen a city rely that much on da food-industry like that lol I tried Ethiopian food for the first time here in this city and it‘s really good!!! U eat with your hands too:D sorry for da ramble…I am no good cook but food is da best! And lol Peen is gonna be on your pirate-Skitty drawing too😂 He looks like a real captain I wish I could already show it….keep including him if u can lol it‘s hilarious and your artist-bros are good at representing him. I have 3 plushies. Shark, ‚goat‘ since birth from ma auntie, and friggin pikachu (grandma bought it for me when I was 8) :) never lose peen. So many memories lol Da co-captain’s List: 1. ramen 2. ramen 3. ramen 4. mango-coco ice cream 5. Japanese beef tongue or skewers in general 6. spaghetti and mussels 7. German-Austrian-Swiss Wursts (lol peen is a Wurst) 8. Ethiopian dishes 9. Korean sweet bulgogi 10. Döner 11. Shawarma 12. selfmade Pizza in da microwave using naan-bread 13. rice and egg… I shut up now. Your ramble made me hungry so now da broccoli-vase and scooter have to go on a food trip with me late at night/evening. Take care of yourself and thanks captain for making our days with those rambles lol I need food now🦖

Mudkip

As a youngish cook/chef, I can definitely say experimenting with foods is a lot of fun

Kyle Poor

Any plans on finishing the rest of the bucket list? Roadkill... I'm imagining some squirrel and maybe armadillo dishes. Poor fellas. Edit: WAIT. ALL from both lists??

SkittyKat

Teddy has eated all 30 and 60 of those. XD the 30 one are a tu fairly straightforward. Heck you know i make chimken from scratch... I use pickle juice to brine. I hate pickles though. One I just shared with some other friends is to put a dash of salt into your chocolate milk. There is also a wonderful cook book called the 'road kill cook book' and well... yup...
