Fortnightly Progress - 22nd March

If these last couple of weeks has shown me anything then it's streaming is far more important to my work process than I'd realised. For giving a sense of stable progress if nothing else.  

From testing (thanks Discord lads and ladies) it appears that the issues with the Designer no longer opening could well be much less of a disruption than I'd feared. It definitely looks like I can just make in the 3.06 Designer and you can still play it in the old RAGS player as normal. Which is nice as that minimizes disruption. 

Still don't like the Designer as it really does chug on occasion but I can deal. If I really have to I'll just start editing the XML in Sublime and just use RAGS for importing the code and adding the art. 

One thing that has come out though is a report that the game is significantly nippier trying it in the 3.06 player. That also opens up the possibility to use more html i.e. proper boxing. What I'm thinking of doing after the next update is seeing if I can put out a proper 3.06 version and then take feedback on whether it's an enough of an improvement to switch over to. 

Though with the designer issues and the broadband pain that took far too many phone calls to resolve has, I hope understandably, slowed me down, some progress has thankfully still been made. 

Written a good chunk of the player Quick as You Like version which will play out like a mini-adventure with several choices along the way. 

I've also started work on the corruption overhaul which while still chaotic will allow more themed options to attempt to gain some control over what you're looking to accomplish.

As part of the discord testing it also looks like I've solved the biomancy issues along with sorting out a number of other bugs that have been reported. 

Toll Bridge has started! At last! 

It's looking great actually. The artist has really gone above what I laid out for the scene and improved the concept. One of the rare cases where no changes had to be requested at all. 

Seen sketch and linework now so hopeful this will be done in next couple of weeks. 

Draenei portrait came out yesterday and I really dig the look of it.

Advanced Blowjob Training is now fully confirmed and I saw a sketch yesterday which while wasn't exactly what I was looking for is currently being redone. 

I will admit I did spent a couple of days doing exactly this to generate some of the more complicated map generation code, but a) I only saw the meme afterwards when aside from cutting me deeply it came far too late for me to realise this may not have been quite the amazingly good idea that I thought it was at the time, b) I feel like I learned stuff doing it, c) I know for a fact these sections of very, very complicated code it will be right each time I do it future rather than having to mess around with find and replace each time and possibly miss stuff that then breaks stuff, and d) I'm sure it will save time in the long run I swear. 

Leaving that perhaps unwise diversion aside progress is going fantastically well. There was a map generation issue that I had to go back and completely rethink which was what led to the diversion in the first place. Other than that though it all seems to be going okay. 

There's a real chance that you might well have the preview version by the next one of these. Entirely possible that there's something horrible in there that I've got no existence of right now, but so far everything has been solvable which is deeply promicing. 

Been doing this conversion far too long and so seeing light at the end of tunnel is bloody lovely. Just hope it's not in fact an oncoming train. 

Broadband issues rather made a nonsense of the (Definites)... To give a quick overview it was a local problem where something was causing excessive noise disruption to the area broadband. Took two-three engineers going out, several calls, and far too much bloody aggro, but I got a stream done last night with no issues and man is that a relief.

Going forward I'll leave the definites off and take them instead as I'll be making my best effort to make these happen according to the schedule and then will only add provisos when needed.

Lust and Kinky Games

I put in two weeks of effort trying to get RAGS to cooperate before I just gave up on it. Glad there's a new route to take so I can try NH out.
